DRY AWAY APRIL SHOWERS HANDY ANDY CLEANING CHAINSAW 250 PIXELS : Handy Andy cleaning chainsaw
April showers bring May flowers, so the saying goes. But the wet weather can also bring rust and corrosion around the home, garden and garage. TV's 'Handy' Andy and WD-40, the world's No.1 multi-purpose lubricant spray, have compiled a list of top tips to prevent damage caused by the downpours.

WD-40's fast action, multi-purpose spray can't stop the rain, but it can help as part of the recovery process. When car engines, garden appliances, tools and bicycles all suffer from the dreadful weather, WD-40 can help to drive away moisture and prevent corrosion, quickly and effectively.

To prevent damp penetrating car ignition systems and short-circuiting the engine, simply coat the distributor coil leads and sparkplugs with a film of WD-40's protective lubricant spray. "If you do this last thing at night, you can ensure your engine starts on even the wettest of mornings," says 'Handy' Andy.

Don't let leaky sheds get the better of tools and electrical equipment. Andy suggests saturating metal parts with WD-40 to ensure tools and equipment are properly protected. "Once applied, leave for a few hours before use to remove all traces of moisture, allowing for the WD-40 to form a protective film which will prevent against rust," says Andy.

Even bicycles can benefit from a liberal spray of WD-40, especially when left out in the rain. Particular attention should be paid to cables and gears to help prevent rust and keep them running smoothly.

WD-40 is a multi-purpose spray, which cleans, protects, lubricates and drives out moisture, it's the most useful spray around the home, garden, garage and workplace. It has literally thousands of different uses. To discover a list of over 2,000 uses, click here.
