TAKE LIFE INSURANCE OUT ON YOUR WHEELBARROW WITH WD-40
HANDY ANDY LUBRICATING WHEELBARROW 340 PIXELS : HANDY ANDY LUBRICATING WHEELBARROW It's as essential as a spade and fork in the garden - but even the most hardworking wheelbarrow should last for years if looked after properly.

The best way of prolonging its life - so it remains rust free and moves smoothly, from one year to the next  - is by spraying it regularly and generously with WD-40, the UK's No.1 Multi-Purpose spray.

Creaks and squeaks could be an early warning that all is not well with the axle so now is the time to act.

Says TV's Home DIY expert Handy Andy Kane "Applying WD-40 to the axle joints is the most effective way of keeping them in good running order as it cleans, protects and lubricates in one application.
Make sure to pay particular attention to in and around the joint, as WD-40 prevents rust forming. Whilst with plastic barrows you need to concentrate on the axle joints, metal wheelbarrows  - which are often left to endure all weathers - need the full WD-40 treatment."
Andy’s tip is to spray liberally on all joints, screws and nuts and bolts, and to coat the bed of the barrow after each use to clean it and prevent from getting rusty.

WD-40 can also be used to:
  • Give wheelbarrow tyres a great shine
  • Silence annoying squeaks
  • Protect garden tools from corrosion
