| Protect your prize assets with WD-40 |
Winter’s well on its way – and with it comes the damp and rain. Garden tasks are all but finished which means its time to wrap up and put your tools away. Says TV favourite, Handy Andy Kane, “Making sure you look after your garden tools is crucial – if you don’t want to have to buy them again next year! Follow these simple tips to ensure that your garden tools will come out of the shed looking and working like new next year:
- You don’t need elbow grease to get rid of muck on tools. Remove all dirt stuck hard on to spades, hoes and trowels with a squirt of WD-40 and wipe it away with a damp cloth.
- Make sure lawnmowers are free from grass before putting them away for the winter, by liberally spraying WD-40 on to the blades and wiping with a clean cloth
- Spray WD-40 on to wheelbarrow wheels to make sure they are squeak free when you wheel it out next year
- Prevent any rust forming on electric or moving blades by liberally spraying them with WD-40. Spray it on your hedge trimmer, strimmer, leaf blower and de-mosser to keep them like new
- Make sure secateurs and pruning shears don’t get stuck firm by applying a good squirt of WD-40
